Absent: Dan Rose. Votes: SYHA Board October 2006 Meeting: VOTE: Treasurer’s and Coordinator’s slate for Travel Teams 2006-07 Motion: Mark Johnson; Second, Troy Hedlund; approved. VOTE: Eddie Navarrete as Bantam Green Travel Coach Motion: Deb Logsdon; Second, Pam Colwell; approved. Minutes: September Minutes reviewed and approved. Motion Gary Bennier; Second, Deb Logsdon; approved. Interim Activity: Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report reviewed and approved: Motion: Gary Bennier; Second, Scott Newman; approved. Skater outstanding balances were reviewed and discussed; the board will stand with the policy that any skater holding past due financial balances will not skate until balances are current. VOTE: Treasurer’s and Coordinator’s slate for Travel Teams 2006-07 Motion: Mark Johnson; Second, Troy Hedlund; approved.
Chairperson’s Reports: Operations – Mark Morehead Registrar: Pattie Hauswald • Beginning November 10, 2006, the USA HOCKEY website will be up and running for online registrations. We will want to consider managing our registration process for the 2007-2008 season utilizing the tools provided by USA HOCKEY. A subcommittee was appointed to research and make recommendations Pattie Hauswald, Scott Newman, and Mark Johnson. • We have approximately 225 skaters registered for the 2006-07 season. Ice Scheduler: Brooke Schultz • Summary of hours used was reviewed. • There is ice still available weekend of 10/21-22. Musketeer Relations: Mark Morehead • Additional flex tickets can be purchased through the Musketeer office. • Siouxland Youth Hockey night: January 27th (evening of Pancake Day). Potential 3-5 open skating at the Tyson Event Center for SYHA skaters. Potential bonuses for player selling 40+ tickets. Coaches/Player Development – Mark Morehead Coach Selection: Deb Logsdon • Recommendation for Eddie Navarette to coach the Bantam Green travel team. VOTE: Eddie Navarrete as Bantam Green Travel Coach Motion: Deb Logsdon; Second, Pam Colwell; approved. Ice Scheduler: Brooke Schultz • Summary of hours used was reviewed. • There is ice still available weekend of 10/21-22. Player Development: • VERY POSITIVE feedback re: new intermediate/advanced skills placement program. Seems to be going very well, with positive parental feedback. House League – Gary Bennier Coordinators: Pattie Hauswald • Coordinators for House League are set. • We will hold a meeting with coordinators, and include a novelties representative in that meeting. Referees: John Ward • The referee training session was completed on October 7th. Equipment and Jerseys: Gary Bennier/Eric Carlson • Discussion was held re: travel jersey options and opportunities. Year End Tournament: Gary Bennier • For the year end tournament, we will have three select travel teams out of town. As such the tournament may carry into the following week. Travel Teams: Deb Logsdon/Troy Hedlund Finance/Fundraising – Mark Johnson Dasher Boards: Scott Newman Sales going very well. Greens: Deb Logsdon Any late greens orders must be turned in at the IBP ice rink by 10/20/06 to make the order deadline. Pancake Day: Brooke Schultz Vendor options were discussed and weighed. Chuck a puck: Pattie Hauswald Four dates have been set, the first on is 10/28. Musketeer Programs: Pattie Hauswald Peewee group has sold one night already. Administration: League Reps: • Tri-State: Mark Morehead Tri-State wants all affiliates to have proper wording in by-laws re: board appointments and selections, annual meetings, etc. Mark will bring additional information to November meeting. Old Business: • Mike Kramer has been working on completion of the shooting area at the ice rink. The board will assist in securing materials needed for this project.
