Votes: SYHA Board March 2007 Meeting:

VOTE: Bobby Kinsella will be doing some clinics in May, June, and Pre-Season. Brooke Schultz will work with the Executive committee re: details and specific programming needs.

VOTE: Jeff Gray will have 15 blocks of early morning ice in April open for lessons to SYHA participants.

Executive Committee Interim Activity:

The Executive committee has issued a player penalty for post game roughing.
The player was required to sit out the last two house league games of the season, and will sit one travel game next season.

Minutes: Minutes for February meeting were approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report was approved.

• Fliers are ready to go out to the schools this spring.
• Review of Ice Usage
• Tournament ice use was up this season.
• There are a few hours yet to be used this year.

Ice Scheduler: Brooke Schultz
• Review of Ice Usage

Coaches/Player Development – Mark Morehead

Coaches Recruitment: Deb Logsdon
• Coaching applications are on line.
• Deadline to apply is May 1.
• Selections are scheduled to be made by June 15.
• Assistant coaches, treasurers, and coordinators will not be named until AFTER try outs are completed.
• Coaches evaluations can be turned into Deb Logsdon.
• Bantam age group: projecting 28 returning skaters.
• Discussion was had re: rostering for next year’s Bantam group.

Clinics and Camps:
• Discussions on off-season ice activities
• Pond hockey.
• Camps: spring, fall, pre-season.

• We will need someone to oversee the House League Coordinators for the 2007-2008 season.

Travel Teams: Deb Logsdon/Troy Hedlund
• Troy Hedlund will manage local tournament schedules under Travel Teams.

Finance/Fundraising – Mark Johnson

Dasher Boards:
• We need everyone’s help in gaining additional sponsors for SYHA dasher boards!
• Have collected two checks.

Novelties:
• Lisa Johnson will manage novelties for the board.

Chuck-a-puck and Musketeer Programs:
• Deb Menzenberg will manage chuck-a-puck and Musketeer Programs for the board.

Golf Tournament:
• Everyone can start getting sponsorships for the golf tournament.
• Hole sponsorships will be $100, we can double up sponsors if we need to.
• Discussion was held re: the venue for the tournament.

Summer Fund Raiser from Minnesota Wild!!!
• Mark Morehead and Gary Bennier returned from an informational trip re: a summer activity co-sponsored with the Minnesota Wild, aimed at promoting local Youth Hockey and its benefits.
• On Tuesday, June 26th, two to four players from the Wild will be in Sioux City to help us promote Youth Hockey in Siouxland!
• Ideas for promotions were discussed; i.e. tail gate, raffle, autograph session, etc.
• This will be an informal promotional event.
• Wells Fargo will be the corporate sponsor.
