Metros Alum Inks NHL Contract
The
Toronto Maple Leafs announced Saturday that the hockey club has agreed
to terms with Niagara University Purple Eagles (NCAA) free agent
right-winger Kyle Rogers to a two-year Entry Level contract. Rogers
skated with the Sioux City Metros from 2000-02, earning First-Team
All-Star honors in 2002.

SIOUX CITY JOURNAL — SUN, MAR 9: AMES, Iowa - Sioux City Metros players
had a hand on four of the five goals for the West squad in a 5-4 victory
over the East in the Midwest High School Hockey League All-Star Game
here Saturday night.
  
Andrew Bauer - B.J. Jackson - Jacob Wilde
Jacob Wilde had a goal and two assists while Andrew Bauer and B.J.
Jackson added assists.
The West rallied from a 4-2 deficit at the end of the second period.
Jackson's assist came on the game-winning goal while Bauer had an assist
on Wilde's goal.
Sioux City's Bauer was playing in his second straight all-star game.
LeGree to Compete in NCAA Tourney

The University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellow Jackets won the Northern
Collegiate Hockey Association’s O’Brien Cup playoff championship game
Sunday, March 2. The win helped them earn a berth in the NCAA Division
III National championship tournament that begins this weekend. The Yellow
Jackets roster includes former Metros standout, Lindsey LeGree. As a
freshman, LeGree finished fourth in conference scoring, 27th in the
nation in scoring, and was awarded Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Three Metros players in all-star game
SIOUX CITY JOURNAL — SAT, MAR 8: AMES, Iowa - Jacob Wilde, B.J. Jackson
and Andrew Bauer of the Sioux City Metros are taking part in the Midwest
High School Hockey League All-Star Game here tonight.
The trio will play for the West squad against a group of player from the
East. It is the second straight all-star appearance for Bauer.
Sioux City wound up fifth in the state tournament last weekend.
